Opera Studio: Summer 2017

The Hoxton Opera Studios will be holding auditions for its 2017 repertoire development courses:

To secure an audition slot, please send a current biography with a photograph and links to online media to rpg@secret opera.com or complete the Audition Form.

These courses aim to prepare a double cast in full roles of existing repertoire operas in the original language, through individual coaching, masterclasses and public performances. Where we do not manage to cast all roles, scenes and arias will be prepared.

The 2016 courses worked on Britten’s Turn of the Screw, Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito and included Masterclasses with the following expert tutors:

Dr Colin Morris, buffo-baritone
Stephen Tiller, actor and director
Andrew Watts, counter-tenor
James Black, artist manager
David Edwards, director

For 2017 we are looking for singers to study and perform the following individual operas:

Donizetti: L’ELISIR D’AMORE (Spring 2017 – in English)
Wagner: SIEGFRIED (Summer 2017)

The course fee for each of the above courses is £450.  Each course will require a rehearsal period of four weeks in total.
